SIGNUM BLANC

The premium brand of the Rothschädl Winery South-Styria

A gem in the terroir

The soil where Signum Blanc grows bears more than just vines – Tourmaline slumbers within, a gem of rare structure. It lends the wine a quiet tension, a crystalline clarity. You can’t taste it directly. And yet the tourmaline is there – in the fine and complex elegance on the palate.

SIGNUM BLANC wines are created in peace. Old vines growing on steep slopes dotted with tourmaline, the most careful and late hand-harvesting of the grapes, and long aging periods in the cellar characterize this parcel wine.

A Rarity with soul.

Decidedly different.

The fermentation of the wines takes place spontaneously and without additives. As a winemaker, Thomas Rothschädl seeks his own, not the expected. The wines are aged in wood and stainless steel, with patience as his most important tool. It is accompanied by a winemaker who senses more than intervenes.

SIGNUM BLANC is rare – not made for the masses, but grown out of conviction. It is the result of many small decisions. It is driven by an uncompromising standard. Depending on the vintage, only 2,500 bottles are produced per grape variety. Packaged in handcrafted, high-quality wooden boxes. Due to the tourmaline-rich terroir, Signum Blanc has decades of aging potential.

SIGNUM BLANC – not a wine for every day.

The wine for the moment when the universe kisses you.

The Terroir

Southern Styria

There are areas that are simply magical, fairytale-like. Or even a little enchanted, almost as if from another world. This is also true of southern Styria, which literally grounds you with its gently rolling hills, forested peaks and fertile vineyards. There is something almost meditative about the peace and tranquillity that this vineyard-green landscape radiates. One feels a deep sense of happiness and pure, inner peace here.
